Number of Zoos in Europe compared to United States of America

America's approximately 750 zoos and aquaria are far less than number of zoos/aquaria in Europe. This is in part reflection from greater population of people in Europe compared to the U.S. (Europe's aproximately 680 millions vs. 320 millions in the U.S.). Yet, the number of people per zoo in Europe is smaller than that in the U.S. (U.S. 434,000 people per zoo, compared to UK for example, having 181,000 people per zoo).

Here are the numbers:
(Country : number of zoos/aquaria, also are included smallest zoos, terraria, petting zoos) (the numbers are approximate estimates using different sources)

-United States of America: 750 zoos
-Germany: 1,100 zoos !
-United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: 350 (England, 280)
-France: 190
-Spain: 110
-The Netherlands, Switzerland, and Austria: 240 (each of the three by 80 zoos)
-Czech Republic and Italy: 140 (by 70 each)
-Sweden and Denmark: 120 (by 60 each)
-Croatia, Belgium, Portugal, Romania, and Ukraine: each by 30
-Hungary, Poland, and Bulgaria: each by 20
-Other European countires have each by less than a 20 zoos

-Russia (wich is a country spanning from the eastern Europe to Asia Far-East) have approximately 90 zoos
-China have approximately 70 zoos

So, what are your thoughts on this?
